This Hazy IPA from La Pirata Brewing is a focused celebration of Amarillo hops, delivering a punchy sensory experience that feels both liberating and intense. Pouring with a characteristic opaque glow, it opens with a high-intensity bouquet of navel orange, floral blossoms, and ripe apricot driven specifically by the Amarillo hop character. The 6.8% ABV provides a subtle, integrated warmth that supports a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. On the palate, vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes meld with a clean, bready malt backbone, leading to a smooth finish with restrained bitterness that emphasizes juicy drinkability over sharp edges.

Appearance. Straw to light orange (4–6 SRM); opaque with a distinct haze and a luminous shine. Forms a medium, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of sweet orange peel, grapefruit, and floral perfume characteristic of the Amarillo variety. Supported by a clean, lightly bready malt profile and faint tropical esters; absence of herbal or grassy notes.

Taste. Initial impression is of high fruity hop flavors including mandarin, apricot, and lemon. Malt flavor is low to medium, providing a soft bready foundation. Perceived bitterness is moderate but smoothly integrated, masking the alcohol. The finish is off-dry and lingering with fruit-forward hop oils.
