This American IPA wakes the palate with a vibrant, resinous strike driven by a heavy Double Dry Hopping of Citra and Amarillo. Bright notes of grapefruit zest, juicy tangerine, and hints of tropical mango from the Citra dominate the profile, while Amarillo contributes distinctive orange and floral accents. Supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone, this ale presents a crisp, refreshing character with a decidedly dry finish that emphasizes hop punch over malt sweetness. The aromatic intensity is high, showcasing the characteristic citrus and tropical oils of its signature hops, leading into a clean, lingering bitterness that invites another sip.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber in color (6-9 SRM). Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head and exhibits a slight haze common in double dry-hopped examples.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon. Subtle floral and tropical fruit esters are present, supported by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character and a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor echoing the citrus and tropical fruit notes of the aroma. Low, clean, crackery maltiness provides a minimal foundation for a firm, assertive bitterness. The profile is decidedly hop-forward with a clean fermentation, finishing very dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and there is no perceived harshness or astringency, accompanied by a very subtle, smooth alcohol warmth.
