Lost Barrel is a decadent Imperial Stout that emerges from eight months of Bourbon barrel maturation with a profound sensory depth. The experience is defined by an indulgent layering of toasted hazelnut and rich caramel, interwoven with the charred oak and vanilla nuances of the spirit cask. This high-gravity pastry stout delivers an intense bouquet of dark chocolate and espresso, supported by a viscous, velvet-like body. The 10% ABV provides a sophisticated warmth that melds into the sweet, nutty finish, creating a harmonious balance between the roasty malt foundation and the opulent dessert-like additions.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (40+ SRM) with a dense, persistent deep tan head. High viscosity is evident through thick legs clinging to the glass after swirling.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a complex blend of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Prominent notes of toasted hazelnut and buttery caramel are layered over bourbon-derived vanilla and charred oak. Subtle dark fruit esters of raisin and prune emerge as the beer warms.

Taste. The palate is dominated by intense flavors of dark roasted grain, cocoa, and rich caramel sweetness. Toasted hazelnut provides a distinct nutty character that complements the bourbon-soaked oak. Moderate bitterness balances the residual pastry sweetness, leading to a lingering, warming finish of dark chocolate and vanilla.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a chewy, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, emphasizing the beer's creamy mouthfeel. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
