La Pirata Lab 007 IPA
This American IPA showcases a sophisticated interplay between modern hop profiles and a velvety malt base. Golden Promise malt provides a refined, bready foundation, while flaked oats and wheat impart a smooth texture despite the beer’s brilliant clarity. The Enigma hops take center stage, delivering a complex bouquet of red berries, melon, and subtle Pinot Grigio notes, complemented by the tropical and piney accents of Mosaic. Fermented with Vermont Ale yeast, the profile is enhanced by delicate peach esters. It is a potent, high-ABV expression that remains crisp and dry, offering a bold yet elegant hop experience.
Appearance. Pales gold to light amber (approx 7 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring distinct red currant, raspberry, and melon from Enigma, alongside Mosaic-driven notes of blueberry, mango, and resinous pine. The Vermont Ale yeast contributes a soft stone fruit ester like peach. Low grainy-sweet maltiness from the Golden Promise provides a clean, supportive background.
Taste. Leading with powerful hop flavors of tropical fruit, mixed berries, and a touch of white grape. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, balancing the light bready sweetness of the Golden Promise and oats. The fermentation is mostly clean with a lingering stone fruit character. The finish is dry and crisp with a persistent hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably smooth, creamy texture derived from the addition of Golden Naked Oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. A well-integrated, light alcohol warmth is present at 7.5% ABV.
