This modern West Coast IPA showcases a striking intersection of juicy fruit aromatics and a crisp, attenuated finish. A high-intensity bouquet of Mosaic and Citra hops delivers vivid layers of ripe mango, passionfruit, and bright grapefruit zest, while Simcoe provides a grounding resonance of dank pine and resin. Despite the saturated hop presence, the palate remains remarkably lean, supported by a clean, neutral malt base. It balances a firm, persistent bitterness with a deceptive sweetness derived purely from tropical hop oils, ultimately resolving into a bone-dry, refreshing conclusion typical of the style's coastal evolution.
Appearance. Deep gold (7 SRM) with brilliant clarity and a moderate, frothy white head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical notes of mango and blueberry from the Mosaic, bright grapefruit and lime from Citra, and a supporting resinous pine and earthy dankness from Simcoe. Malt is low and clean, providing a faint grainy-sweet backdrop with a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor echoes the aromatic profile with layers of tropical fruit, citrus pith, and resin. The malt flavor is low, characterized by neutral crackers or light toasted bread. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy aftertaste and a clean, refreshing bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the heavy hopping. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but smooth.
