Barcelona Tropical is a vibrant American IPA that captures the essence of a sun-drenched coast through an explosive hop profile. This collaboration features an intensive double dry hopping process that pushes hop saturation to the forefront. The prominent use of Mosaic hops delivers a rush of ripe blueberries and tropical fruit, while Simcoe adds layers of pine resin and bright citrus zest. A foundation of clean, pale malts provides enough structure to support the aggressive bitterness without distracting from the hop intensity. The result is a bold, refreshing ale with a lingering, resinous finish that highlights the synergy between these two world-class breweries.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant deep gold to pale amber with a slight, beautiful haze from the double dry hopping. Topped by a persistent, medium-sized white head with excellent retention and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma dominated by tropical notes of passion fruit and mango, accented by Mosaic-driven blueberry and Simcoe’s characteristic forest pine and grapefruit zest. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness sits in the background, keeping the focus entirely on the hops with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus oils. Mid-palate reveals layers of pine and earthy resin supported by a low, slightly toasty malt character. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, balancing the hop fruitiness without becoming harsh. It finishes dry and clean with a long, lingering aftertaste of resinous hops and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the hop oils. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle.

Di colore biondo dorato, viene prodotta con una doppia luppolatura di mosaic e simcoe. La luppolatura a secco le permette di concentrare una moltitudine di profumi e sapori, rendendo l’amaro esplosivo (ben 80 ibu!). La gradazione della Pirata Barcelona Tropical non è per nulla esagerata, l’amaro questa volta è davvero intenso!
