This massive Imperial Stout, a collaboration between La Pirata and Laugar, delivers an intense sensory experience driven by its significant 13% ABV. The profile is anchored by a profound malt complexity, featuring dominant notes of bittersweet chocolate, heavy espresso, and charred grain. Deep layers of dark fruit, specifically dried figs, raisins, and black currants, emerge through the mid-palate, providing a vinous, port-like depth. While the hop character is secondary to the roast, a firm bitterness ensures the rich, velvety body remains balanced. The experience concludes with a long, warming finish that showcases a harmonious blend of dark cocoa and smooth, well-integrated alcohol.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Crowned by a dense, persistent, deep tan head. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, espresso, and black licorice. Moderate esters of prunes and dried figs are present, accompanied by a smooth, vinous alcohol character and very low earthy hop notes.

Taste. Rich and multifaceted, featuring initial flavors of roasted coffee and dark cocoa. A deep malt sweetness suggestive of caramel and toasted bread is balanced by a firm, moderately high hop bitterness. Mid-palate reveals intense dark fruit esters like raisin and plum. The finish is long and bittersweet, with a lingering roast and pleasant warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and luscious with a velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout without being harsh or solventy.
