A collaborative Hazy IPA from La Pirata and Amager Bryghus, Viking Juice is an explosive stone fruit showcase. This beer is defined by its exaggerated additions of peach and apricot, creating a lush, nectar-like profile that dominates the senses. At 7.2% ABV, it maintains the quintessential soft, pillowy texture expected of the style, balancing a restrained hop bitterness against a vibrant, juicy core. The malt profile serves as a supportive, bready foundation, allowing the sun-ripened fruit flavors and tropical hop esters to lead. It concludes with a smooth, off-dry finish that emphasizes fruit-forward freshness without any harshness.
Appearance. Deep straw to golden-orange (5-7 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze and a radiant shine. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity stone fruit aroma with punchy notes of ripe peach and apricot. Supporting hop aromas of mango and citrus zest meld with a clean, bready, and lightly grainy malt backbone. No caramel or toast is present.
Taste. High fruity hop and adjunct flavor centered on succulent apricot and sweet peach. The malt flavor is low, providing a supportive bready character. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft body. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering, juice-like aftertaste devoid of hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, and the beer lacks any harshness, astringency, or acidic twang.
