IPA - India Pale Ale 6.5 º 45 IBU
La Mola IPA presents a robust sensory experience that bridges traditional English IPA characteristics with a more intense, modern hop profile. The aroma is dominated by floral and citrus notes, driven by high alpha-acid hops that provide a assertive foundation. Visually striking with its dark brown hue, the beer supports a dense and creamy persistent head. On the palate, a deep bitterness is balanced by a bready malt backbone, leading into a unique spicy finish. The medium-full body and pronounced carbonation enhance the intensity, leaving a lingering, clean bitterness and a subtle alcohol warmth that highlights the brewer's intent for a strong, flavorful ale.
Appearance. Deep amber to dark brown (14–22 SRM); clear to slightly hazy. Features a dense, creamy, off-white head with excellent persistence and heavy lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring floral, spicy, and citrus-orange hop character. Low to medium-low bready and toasty malt presence with a hint of dark caramel. Low fruity esters are detectable.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression with assertive bitterness (45 IBU) and flavors of orange peel and wildflower. Malt flavors provide a medium-low toasted biscuit and toffee support. The finish is dry and notably spicy with a lingering, clean hop bitterness and light alcohol flavor in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth texture; no hop-derived astringency. High carbonation creates a prickly, lively sensation on the tongue. Moderate, smooth alcohol warmth is present.
