The Feast is a striking Double IPA that emphasizes aromatic saturation through an intensive double dry-hopping process. The sensory profile opens with high-intensity notes of tropical mango, zesty grapefruit, and a touch of resinous pine. On the palate, the beer delivers a clean, lean malt backbone that allows the hops to remain the undisputed protagonist. It strikes a balance between a firm, lingering bitterness and a crisp, dry finish, ensuring high drinkability despite its strength. This expression focuses on a vibrant, fruity hop character and a smooth mouthfeel, typical of modern, hop-forward interpretations of the Double IPA style.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper in color (7-10 SRM) with a light, persistent haze from the double dry-hop additions. It supports a moderate-sized, creamy off-white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit, citrus pith, and resinous pine. A very low, neutral, grainy malt presence sits in the background. Fermentation is clean with only a subtle hint of fruity esters and a light, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. The palate leads with strong hop flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, and orange peel. Bitterness is moderately high and firm but remains smooth without harshness. The malt character is low, clean, and unobtrusive, providing a soft foundation for the hops. It concludes with a dry to medium-dry finish and a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, adding a lively crispness. A light, restrained alcohol warmth is present, well-integrated into the overall structure with no astringency.
