This Double New England IPA presents a vibrant sensory tapestry woven with Mosaic, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Columbus hops. An intense tropical bouquet of ripe mango and passion fruit is immediate, grounded by a distinctive resinous undertone from the Simcoe and Columbus additions. Despite its 8% strength, the beer maintains a juicy profile where bright citrus notes from Amarillo flourish. The experience is defined by a lush, hazy texture and a complex hop-forward character that balances succulent fruitiness with a firm, piney kick, characteristic of a modern, heavily dry-hopped Strong American Ale.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque with a heavy haze; features a thick, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical mango and passion fruit. Significant citrus zest and a sharp, resinous pine background. Low, neutral, grainy malt character with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus lead into a moderately high bitterness that remains smooth. The mid-palate reveals dank, resinous pine notes. Malt provides a soft, unobtrusive support. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, juicy hop aftertaste and no harshness.
