Krecher Lavalantula is a striking Wild Specialty Beer that delivers an explosive sensory journey, bursting with the vivid tropical profiles of real mango and passion fruit, sharpened by the electric, citrusy zip of calamansi juice. These intense specialty fruits are masterfully integrated into a rustic, lactic-forward wild fermentation. The nose is incredibly aromatic with tropical esters and a gentle, earthy wild funk, while the palate experiences a bright, puckering sourness that dryly cuts through the perceived sweetness of the exotic fruits, leaving a crisp, mouth-watering impression.
Appearance. Deep, hazy orange-gold with a saturated, vibrant hue; pours with a moderate, frothy off-white head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin collar, leaving light, patchy lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity aroma dominated by lush, ripe mango and highly fragrant, tangy passion fruit. A sharp, citrusy punch of calamansi juice adds lime and orange peel highlights, backed by a clean, lactic sourness and a moderate wild character reminiscent of wet hay, mild leather, and earthy funk.
Taste. Begins with a sharp, puckering burst of lactic acidity and tart calamansi citrus flavor. Rich, fleshy mango and passion fruit notes dominate the mid-palate, delivering intense tropical fruitiness without cloying sweetness. Hop bitterness is very low and masked by the acidity, while malt flavor is virtually imperceptible. The finish is remarkably dry, clean, and highly acidic, leaving a lingering, mouth-watering citrus and exotic fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a slightly pulpy, juice-like texture from the fruit; moderate to high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing effervescence. Alcohol warmth is very subtle and well-integrated, accompanied by a slight, mouth-drying astringency from the citrus juices.
