Krecher

An indulgent and decadent Imperial Stout that envelopes the senses in a dessert-like embrace. Aromas of freshly toasted coconut and the floral, sweet perfume of Tahitian vanilla beans mingle with deep, caramelized maple syrup. On the palate, a thick, velvety wave of bittersweet chocolate and heavily roasted malts balances the intense sweetness of the maple. At 13% ABV, a smooth, spirit-like warmth emerges in the finish, complementing the luscious, chewy texture. This is a highly complex, dessert-forward stout where the rich adjuncts harmonize beautifully with the robust, roasted malt backbone.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a dense, persistent dark brown head that leaves thick legs on the glass, showcasing its high viscosity and alcohol strength.

Aroma. Intense and highly complex. Bold roasted malt aromas of dark chocolate and espresso are heavily layered with sweet, rich maple syrup, toasted coconut flakes, and a dominant, floral Tahitian vanilla bean presence. Subtle dark fruit esters of prune and raisin lurk in the background, with low hop aroma and a smooth, warming alcohol note.

Taste. Very rich and sweet initial impression. Robust flavors of bittersweet chocolate, heavily roasted barley, and French roast coffee form the base, quickly enveloped by sweet maple syrup, toasted coconut, and smooth vanilla. The bitterness is medium-high but heavily masked by the residual sugars and adjuncts, leading to a sweet, lingering, dessert-like finish with a soft, roasted aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, exceptionally chewy, and velvety with a luscious, coating texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A distinct, smooth, and pleasant alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its high gravity without being sharp or hot.
