This sessionable interpretation of a German Pils delivers a crisp, lager-driven foundation with a contemporary hop profile. It presents a brilliant straw hue topped by a persistent, creamy white head. The aroma is defined by a potent dry-hop addition of Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Centennial, providing vibrant layers of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit over a clean, doughy malt base. On the palate, initial cracker-like malt flavors are swiftly overtaken by a firm bitterness and juicy hop character. Light-bodied and highly attenuated, it finishes remarkably dry and refreshing, maintaining the sharp, clean fermentation profile expected of the style.
Appearance. SRM 3; brilliant clarity, straw to pale yellow color; voluminous, long-lasting creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately-high intensity; prominent hop character featuring citrus, resinous pine, and tropical fruit from Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Centennial; low grainy-sweet and doughy malt; clean fermentation profile with no yeast esters.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt quickly yields to a dominant hop presence of grapefruit and pine; medium-high bitterness (~35 IBU) provides a sharp, clean edge; malt provides a toasted cracker backdrop; finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, refreshing hop bitterness.
