This American IPA presents a sharp, contemporary profile where the classic resinous and citrus-forward character of a West Coast IPA is elevated by an infusion of OMG Gin. The sensory experience is dominated by a complex botanical layer, featuring prominent juniper, dried lavender, and spicy coriander that intertwine seamlessly with pithy grapefruit hop notes. A lean, crackery malt base provides a crisp foundation, allowing the aggressive bitterness and botanical aromatics to remain at the forefront. The finish is remarkably dry and clean, leaving a lingering trail of pine needles and herbal spice, characteristic of both the style and the artisanal spirit infusion.
Appearance. Color is medium gold (approx. 8 SRM). Clear to brilliant clarity. Displays a persistent, off-white, fine-beaded head with moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent hop character of resinous pine and grapefruit zest. Significant botanical presence from the gin infusion, featuring juniper, floral lavender, and a hint of spicy coriander. Malt is low and clean with a light grainy profile. Clean fermentation with minimal esters.
Taste. High hop bitterness and flavor. Initial flavors of pithy citrus and pine resin are quickly joined by herbal gin botanicals. Malt flavor is low, providing a neutral, bready support. Fermentation is clean, though the gin adds a floral complexity. Finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, bitter, and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 7% ABV. No harshness or astringency.
