Andechser Weizenbock 2902, brewed to honor the 150th anniversary of King Ludwig I’s passing, pays tribute to the founder of St. Boniface Abbey in Munich and Andechs. The name “2902” is a nod to the date of his death, the last day of February.

Pouring a beautiful honey hue, this Weizenbock offers an enticingly cloudy appearance with a dense, fine-pored head. Its aroma unfolds with vibrant notes of banana, mango, apricot, and pear, layered with warm spices like clove and nutmeg. On the palate, it delivers a satisfying blend of strong yet soft body, a slight honey sweetness, and a gentle hop bitterness. Description

With a strong honey color, the Andechser Weizenbock attracts attention. A structured yeast cloudiness and an opulent, fine-pored head of foam round off the visual appearance. Striking fruit aromas of banana, mango, apricot and pear, underlaid with aromatic notes such as clove and nutmeg, surprise the nose. The body is strong but soft. This way, the Weizenbock stays wonderfully tangy and refreshing in the drink. A perfect combination of subtle fruit acid, light honey sweetness and a subtle, subtle hop bitterness leads to a harmoniously fruity finish.
