Rupture Attack is a punchy Double IPA that presents a vibrant, tropical-forward sensory profile. The addition of oat and wheat flakes creates a characteristic hazy appearance and a silky, juicy mouthfeel that supports an intense hop assault. Expect a saturated bouquet of ripe mango and papaya, complemented by bright citrus notes of orange and clementine. Stone fruit nuances, particularly apricot, weave through the experience, while the 8% ABV provides a refined, smooth warmth. The hop bitterness remains firm and clean, balancing the soft, grainy malt backbone for a dry, lingering finish that prioritizes hop intensity over malt sweetness.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper in color. Opaque and hazy due to the inclusion of oat and wheat flakes. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruits like mango and papaya, alongside bright citrus notes of clementine and orange. Substantial stone fruit notes of apricot are present. The malt character is low and supportive, showing a neutral, grainy, and slightly bready quality from the oats and wheat.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of orange, clementine, and mango dominate the palate, followed by notes of apricot and papaya. High bitterness that is firm but clean and lacking harshness. The malt character is low, soft, and unobtrusive, providing a grainy foundation. The finish is dry with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste. Light, clean alcohol flavor is present.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. No harsh hop-derived astringency. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated.
