Match Made is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the style's tropical allure through an aggressive dry-hopping regime. The inclusion of Dolcita (1019) provides an intense foundation of passionfruit and sweet pineapple, while the Eggers Special Riwaka adds a distinctive punch of pink grapefruit and diesel-tinged citrus. A unique dual-yeast fermentation deepens the fruit profile, layering stone fruit esters over a soft, bready malt base. It pours with a signature opaque glow and a creamy head, leading to a plush, pillowy mouthfeel. The finish is remarkably smooth, with restrained bitterness that allows the lush, resinous hop character to linger long after each sip.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM); opaque with a luminous hazy shine; high retention, meringue-like white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; explosive notes of passionfruit, mango, and zesty lime from the Riwaka, balanced by sweet tropical candy and stone fruit from the Dolcita. Malt is low, grainy, and lightly bready. Moderate fruity esters from the two-strain yeast blend complement the hop-driven tropicality.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor featuring layers of crushed pineapple, pink grapefruit, and nectarine. Low to medium-low perceived bitterness that is soft and well-integrated. Clean, neutral bready malt sweetness provides a supportive backbone. Soft, off-dry, and clean finish with no hop harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body; moderate carbonation; low, well-integrated alcohol warmth; smooth and silky texture devoid of any acidic twang or raw starchiness.
