This collaboration West Coast IPA presents a striking balance between classic structure and modern hop innovation. A base of clean pale malts provides a neutral, ripping clean canvas for a sophisticated blend of US and NZ hops to excel. Expect an aromatic collision of resinous pine and bright citrus from the northern hemisphere, integrated with the vibrant tropical fruit and white grape notes characteristic of New Zealand varietals. At 7% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable, finishing bone-dry with a firm, assertive bitterness that defines the style's heritage while showcasing a bright, contemporary New World fruit profile.
Appearance. Color is a brilliant, deep gold (7 SRM). It supports a medium-sized, white, persistent head with excellent lacing and high clarity, typical of the West Coast style.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical passionfruit. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Fermentation is very clean with a faint hint of floral esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and crisp. High hop flavors of citrus peel, pine needles, and underripe stone fruit dominate. Bitterness is firm and assertive but clean, supported by a low, grainy pale malt character. The finish is very dry and lingering with a crisp, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the dry finish. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth that remains smooth without any astringency.
