Appearance. Deep gold to light amber with an SRM of 9. Exhibits a medium-sized, persistent off-white head with fine lacing. Clarity is high, showing only a very slight, brilliant haze.
Aroma. High intensity featuring resinous pine and grapefruit hop notes, layered with the fragrant, woody aroma of rosemary and floral lime blossom. A distinct spicy, peppercorn-like zing from the Sichuan pepper is evident, underpinned by a low, clean, bready malt character.
Taste. Assertive hop bitterness and flavor dominate, showing citrus peel and pine needles. The rosemary adds a savory herbal dimension, while the lime blossom provides a perfumed sweetness. Sichuan pepper lends a unique spicy bite that persists into the finish. The malt is low and crackery, providing a clean foundation. Finishes dry and lingeringly bitter.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, moderately oily texture. Medium-high carbonation creates a crisp, lively sensation. A gentle alcohol warmth is present, accompanied by a faint, characteristic numbing tingle from the Sichuan pepper on the tip of the tongue.
