This Double IPA showcases a fierce hop profile led by Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Mosaic. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense tropical character, featuring prominent notes of candied oranges, ripe pineapple, and a distinctive juicy fruit bubblegum sweetness. A lean, neutral malt foundation supports the aggressive hopping without introducing heavy caramel tones, allowing the modern hop varieties to remain the focus. It pours a brilliant deep gold with a persistent white head, finishing quite dry with a firm, lingering bitterness and a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the bold fruit-forward profile.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7–9 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing. Generally clear, though a very slight haze from heavy dry-hopping is acceptable.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit, citrus, and white grape notes. Specific scents of candied orange, pineapple, and subtle berry are supported by a clean, neutral, grainy malt background. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of citrus, pineapple, and tropical fruit. Bitterness is moderately high to high but lacks harshness. Malt character is low, soft, and clean, providing a minimal supportive backdrop. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy, bitter aftertaste and a clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Contains a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth and no harsh hop-derived astringency.
