This decadent English Barley Wine pours a deep, dark amber, offering an olfactory journey through 14 months of NZ Whisky cask conditioning. The aroma is dominated by the earthy complexity of black truffles and single malt whisky, interwoven with rich notes of sherried walnuts and milk chocolate. On the palate, a lush malt foundation delivers flavors of Christmas cake and dry spices, transitioning into a sophisticated red wine-like finish. The high alcohol content provides a velvety warmth, while the integration of earthy truffle and vinous oxidation creates a multi-layered, contemplative sipper that mirrors the complexity of a fine port.

Appearance. Dark amber to deep copper (approx. 18–22 SRM) with brilliant clarity and ruby highlights. It features a low, creamy, off-white head with minimal retention; significant legs are visible on the glass due to high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity. Intricate layers of rich, bready malt and toffee are punctuated by earthy, savory black truffles and peat-kissed single malt whisky. Prominent dark fruit esters suggest raisins and Christmas cake, complemented by oxidative notes of dry sherry and toasted walnuts. Hop aroma is negligible, superseded by barrel-derived oak and spice.
