This Best Bitter is a masterclass in English sessionability, driven by a rich base of Simpsons Maris Otter and Munich malts. It presents an inviting profile of toasted bread crust and golden biscuit, layered with a delicate thread of Crystal malt caramel. The hop profile uses Willamette and Cascade to bridge tradition and modernity, offering a gentle earthy depth alongside a faint, bright citrus lift. It is exceptionally drinkable, balancing its malt complexity with a firm, drying bitterness. The result is a clean, refreshing ale that honors the Anglo-Saxon brewing heritage with balanced elegance and a crisp, lingering finish.

Appearance. Medium amber to light copper (10–12 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It carries a low to moderate off-white head with fair retention.

Aroma. Moderate intensity with a dominant bready and biscuity malt character from the Maris Otter. Subtle caramel sweetness is present, alongside a mild earthy hop aroma and a very faint floral citrus note.

Taste. Initial impressions of toasted biscuit and light toffee are met by a medium-high bitterness that never becomes harsh. The hop flavor is earthy and slightly spicy from the Willamette, with a light citrus touch on the back end. It finishes decidedly dry and clean, with the bitterness lingering pleasantly.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with low to moderate carbonation. It is smooth on the palate with zero alcohol warmth and no astringency.
