Red Trolley is a robust expression of the Irish Red Ale, distinguished by the addition of a half-ton of caramelized malts that produce a striking deep copper color and a decadent toffee-forward profile. This American interpretation leans into the richer possibilities of the style, utilizing a warm fermentation process to develop sophisticated esters of raisins and currants. Appearance. Deep reddish-copper (SRM 14-16) with excellent clarity. Pours with a moderate, off-white to light tan head that shows average persistence and light lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high malt intensity featuring prominent notes of toffee, toasted bread, and caramelized sugar. Distinctive dark fruit esters of raisins and currants are present, supported by a very low, earthy hop character. Clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is of soft toffee and rich caramel malt sweetness. The mid-palate introduces toasted grain complexity and subtle flavors of dried currants and raisins. Hop bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough balance against the malt without becoming assertive.
