Kaapse Bok presents as a quintessential Dunkles Bock, pouring a deep copper with striking garnet highlights that reflect its character as a Ruby Bock. The sensory experience is led by a rich, deeply layered malt backbone, where substantial use of Munich malt and Vienna malt contributes intense aromas of toasted bread crust and savory Maillard products. Appearance. SRM 14–22; light brown with attractive ruby and garnet highlights. Features excellent clarity and a large, creamy, persistent off-white head that leaves moderate lacing.

Aroma. Medium-high intensity of rich, bready, and toasty malt. Pronounced Maillard products with light notes of dark caramel and a subtle hint of dark fruit. Clean fermentation profile with no hop aroma and a faint, pleasant alcohol presence.

Taste. Complex and rich maltiness dominates the palate, characterized by toasty-rich Maillard flavors and light dark caramel. Hop bitterness is low to moderate, providing just enough support to balance the malt without adding flavor. Finish is well-attenuated and clean, trailing off with a lingering malty sweetness that never becomes cloying. No roasted or burnt character is present.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to moderately low. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, contributing to a substantial but drinkable feel without any astringency.
