This collaborative Double IPA from Juicy Brewing Co and Spyglass Brewing Company delivers a vivid sensory experience defined by its hazy profile and massive hop saturation. The selection of Motueka, NewZilla, and Mosaic hops drives an intense aromatic profile of overripe mango, lime zest, and passion fruit. On the palate, the 8% ABV provides a structured warmth that carries flavors of pineapple and stone fruit against a soft, wheat-leaning malt backbone. Despite its strength, the beer remains exceptionally smooth and crushable, finishing with a refined, clean bitterness and a lingering tropical resonance that highlights the modern, juicy approach to the style.
Appearance. Opaque to very hazy; color ranges from gold to light orange (7–9 SRM). Features a large, dense, and persistent off-white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit, lime, and lemon-zest notes from the Motueka and Mosaic additions. Secondary notes of melon and light pine are present. Malt is supportive and neutral, offering a light grainy sweetness in the background.
Taste. Bold tropical fruit flavors dominate, mirroring the aroma with pineapple, citrus, and berry notes. Bitterness is firm but smooth and well-integrated, lacking harshness. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, providing a clean platform for the hop oils. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
