This Double IPA from Juguetes Perdidos delivers an assertive sensory profile that balances intense hop saturation with impressive drinkability. The aroma is dominated by high-intensity waves of citrus zest, resinous pine, and ripe tropical fruit, supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone. On the palate, a firm, sharp bitterness immediately takes hold, showcasing complex layers of grapefruit and resin that lead into a remarkably dry, clean finish. At 8.9% ABV, the alcohol is expertly integrated, providing a smooth, comforting warmth rather than harsh heat. It represents the quintessential character of a modern Double IPA: bold, bitter, and aromatically explosive.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (6–12 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit, and tropical mango. Supported by a low, clean, grainy malt character. Fermentation is neutral with a very light, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of citrus rind and pine needles. The malt is soft and unobtrusive, providing a light toasted cracker base. High bitterness that is firm but not harsh, leading to a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture. Medium-high carbonation. Noticeable but well-restrained alcohol warmth without any hop-derived astringency.
