This robust Imperial Porter presents a decadent sensory profile defined by its deep toasted malt backbone and unique adjunct additions. Dark malts deliver rich layers of baker’s chocolate and light coffee, while the infusion of licorice allsorts contributes a distinctive anise-like sweetness and herbal depth. At a potent ten percent alcohol, a noticeable warmth integrates with subtle hints of tropical coconut, adding a creamy complexity to the finish. Despite its strength, the beer maintains a balanced bitterness characteristic of an American Porter, finishing with a lingering harmony of roasted intensity and sweet confectionary notes that elevate its bold, winter-warmer personality.

Appearance. Very dark brown to opaque black (35-40 SRM). Pours with a thick, creamy, tan-colored head with excellent retention and significant lacing as the glass empties.

Aroma. High intensity with a dominant character of roasted grains, dark chocolate, and toasted malts. A unique and prominent licorice and anise aroma stems from the licorice allsorts, complemented by very subtle, sweet coconut notes. Low resinous hop aroma and moderate dark fruit esters.

Taste. Moderately strong roasted malt flavor featuring dark chocolate and espresso notes. The sweetness of licorice allsorts is apparent mid-palate, providing a spicy, candy-like complexity. Medium-high bitterness balances the malty richness and high alcohol. Subtle coconut flavors emerge in the finish. The aftertaste is long and lingering with a mix of sweet licorice and toasted grain.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. A distinct and pleasant alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the ten percent strength. Very low dark malt astringency.
