This American IPA, crafted as a modern Cold IPA, showcases a brilliant fusion of New Zealand hop vibrancy and lager-like precision. Utilizing hops from Freestyle Hops, it radiates intense tropical and stone fruit aromas over a lean, neutral malt base. The collaboration with Monnik Beer Co. results in an exceptionally crispy profile, characterized by a light body and a clean fermentation character that allows the hop-forward bitterness to dominate. The finish is bone-dry and refreshing, emphasizing a sharp, clean bitterness without the interference of heavy esters or specialty malts, truly honoring its guardian namesake through pure hop expression.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx. 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent tropical fruit, passionfruit, and crushed gooseberry notes from New Zealand hops. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops. Exceptionally clean fermentation profile with no yeast esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean hop-forward punch of lime and resin. Very low grainy malt flavor leads into a high hop bitterness. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, clean, hoppy aftertaste and no harshness or caramel sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth and no detectable astringency.
