This modern take on a German Pils presents a refreshing sensory experience with a distinct craft edge. The appearance is characterized by a slight haze, a departure from tradition owing to its unfiltered nature, which contributes to a notably softer, more supple mouthfeel. On the nose, traditional floral and spicy hop notes lead the way, supported by a clean, grainy-sweet malt foundation reminiscent of fresh dough and crackers. The palate follows suit with a crisp, dry delivery and a firm, lingering bitterness that balances the light malt character. It remains exceptionally drinkable, offering a sophisticated, textured twist on a classic pale bitter lager.
Appearance. Straw to light yellow (3 SRM); displays a slight, characteristic haze due to being unfiltered; thick, creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of floral and spicy hops; light grainy-sweet and doughy malt presence with a hint of honey; exceptionally clean fermentation profile with no esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a clean, grainy malt sweetness quickly overtaken by a firm herbal and spicy hop bitterness. The finish is very dry and crisp, with a lingering hop snap and a touch of minerality. Well-attenuated and balanced toward the bitter side.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; the unfiltered status provides a unique smoothness and soft texture compared to the usual sharp bite of the style; high carbonation; no alcohol warmth.
