This Black IPA offers a striking sensory interplay between shadow and light. An opaque, midnight-ebony pour leads with high-intensity aromas of tropical stone fruit and bright citrus, characteristic of modern fruity hops. These vibrant top notes are supported by a delicate foundation of toasted bread and subtle cocoa. On the palate, the hop-forward profile delivers a fresh, fruity bitterness that slices through a smooth, medium-bodied frame. Restrained dark malts provide a gentle toasted character without any ashy or burnt edges, finishing crisp and dry. It is a masterful balance of stout-like visual depth and the refreshing, aromatic punch of a classic American IPA.

Appearance. Opaque black with dark mahogany highlights at the edges (35 SRM). Thick, persistent light tan head with fine bubbles and excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of ripe mango, melon, and zesty grapefruit. The malt presence is moderate-low, contributing clean scents of dark chocolate and toasted crust. Fermentation is clean with negligible esters.

Taste. Initial impression is leading with vibrant fruit flavors of peach and citrus rind. The bitterness is firm and assertive but remains smooth. Malt flavors provide a supportive, non-clashing background of light coffee and cocoa. The finish is dry and lingering, characterized by a clean hop resin and a touch of roasted grain.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a lively lift. A very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at the finish.
