Saoulstorm is an assertive Double IPA that channels the intensity of Yakima Chief Hops Hyperboost to deliver a massive sensory impact. Pouring a brilliant gold with a dense white head, it radiates a high-intensity aroma of resinous pine, tropical stone fruit, and bright citrus. The palate is dominated by a firm, clean bitterness that cuts through a lean malt base of neutral grains, allowing the hop complexity to shine. At 8.5% ABV, a smooth alcohol warmth integrates seamlessly, while the unconventional adjunct profile contributes to a surprisingly smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel that finishes bone-dry and lingeringly bitter.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8–10 SRM); brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves tight lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; pungent notes of mango, passionfruit, and grapefruit zest from the Yakima Chief Hops Hyperboost. Background of light crackery malt and a clean fermentation profile with a subtle hint of warming ethanol.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of citrus peel and resinous hops. Very high bitterness, though smooth and lacking harshness. Supportive low, bready malt character. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture; moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. Noticeable but well-restrained alcohol warmth.
