This Cold IPA radiates a bright, golden straw hue, delivering an intense aromatic punch driven by Phantasm and a trio of New Zealand hops. Nelson Sauvin provides elegant notes of crushed white grapes and gooseberry, while Riwaka and Motueka contribute zesty lime and tropical passion fruit. The inclusion of fresh Guangdong pink and white pomelo sharpens the citrus profile, complemented by a subtle undertone of fresh-cut grass. Built on a lean base of Bohemian Pilsner Malt and WuChang Rice, the palate is exceptionally crisp and dry. It finishes remarkably clean with a smooth, restrained bitterness that allows the vibrant Southern Hemisphere fruit character to shimmer.
Appearance. Golden straw (3-4 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Features a dense, tight-beaded white head with excellent persistence and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity and exceptionally bright. Dominant tropical notes of passion fruit and white wine grapes are supported by zesty lime and grapefruit. The Guangdong pomelo adds a distinct floral-citrus top note. Very low, clean grainy maltiness is present, following a neutral lager fermentation profile that emphasizes thiol-driven aromas.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus zest and tropical fruit. Flavors of gooseberry, lime, and fresh pomelo are prominent. The malt profile is very lean and neutral, providing a crisp stage for the hops. Bitterness is moderate and firm but lacks any harshness or lingering resin. Finishes bone-dry and refreshing with a clean, zesty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, lean texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, enhancing the refreshing quality. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth and devoid of astringency.
