Ice Grip is a vibrant Cold IPA that showcases an intensive multi-stage dry-hopping regime within a crisp, American IPA framework. The sensory experience is dominated by an explosive bouquet of tropical fruit and bright citrus, driven by Citra T90 and Citra Cryo, alongside the dank, berry-like depth of Mosaic Cryo. Secondary layers of candy-like stone fruit from El Dorado Cryo and the peach-forward notes of Krush T90 emerge, while Motueka Hop Kief adds a distinct lime zest lift. Fermented cold for a lean, lager-like profile, it finishes exceptionally dry, allowing the aggressive bitterness and complex essential oils to remain center stage without heavy malt interference.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense, high-impact hop aroma featuring layers of pink grapefruit, mango, and passion fruit. Distinctive lime and lemon zest notes mingle with subtle pine and a hint of stone fruit. Malt is very low, presenting as a clean, crackery background. Clean fermentation profile with no discernible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean hop punch. High bitterness is firm but lacks harshness. Vibrant flavors of tropical citrus, candied pineapple, and ripe peach follow the aroma. The malt provides a neutral, lean support of toasted grain. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a snappy, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the refreshing quality. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. No astringency despite the high hop load.
