On the palate, a complex weave of toffee and light nuttiness provides a rich, cozy character without leaning into heavy roast. This lager displays a clean fermentation profile, ensuring the toasted grain remains the focal point. With a smooth, medium-full body and a balanced, medium-dry finish, it offers a comforting yet highly drinkable experience perfect for chilly evenings.
Appearance. Deep copper to dark brown with distinct garnet highlights; clear with a thick, creamy, light tan head that exhibits good retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high malt richness characterized by toasted bread crusts, with supportive notes of toffee and caramel. Very low spicy hop aroma is optional; fermentation is exceptionally clean with no yeast-derived esters.
Taste. Rich, malt-forward flavors of toasted grain, nuts, and dark bread crust. Initial sweetness of toffee and caramel is present but gives way to a restrained bitterness and a medium-dry finish. A clean lager character persists with no harsh roasted or burnt notes in the malty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, dextrinous feel that is smooth on the palate. Moderate carbonation with no astringency and a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
