Coastal Curves presents a vibrant, hop-forward evolution of the German Pils, merging traditional lager precision with a distinct West Coast influence. This brilliant, straw-hued lager displays a striking clarity and a resilient white head. The sensory profile is led by a high-intensity hop aroma, where traditional floral and spicy notes are layered with bright citrus and a subtle resinous edge. On the palate, a foundation of toasted cracker and light honey malt is quickly superseded by a firm, clean bitterness. The experience concludes with an exceptionally dry, crisp finish and a lingering mineral snap that heightens its refreshing qualities.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3 SRM); brilliant clarity; creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant floral, spicy, and herbal hop character with secondary notes of lemon zest and light pine; low grainy-sweet malt reminiscent of toasted crackers and dough; very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impressions of grainy malt and honey-touched cracker are rapidly overtaken by a medium-high hop bitterness. Flavors of dried herbs, spice, and citrus pith lead into a crisp, bone-dry finish. The bitterness is firm but clean, lingering into a refreshing aftertaste.
