Appearance. Very deep brown to opaque black (30-40 SRM). Topped by a dense, tan to light brown head with excellent retention and thick lacing; opacity is typical for the depth of color.
Aroma. High intensity of roast like dark chocolate and coffee. Low earthy hop aroma is present alongside subtle dark fruit esters and a hint of sweet molasses, consistent with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression of rich dark chocolate and coffee roast. The seven-malt blend provides a complex grainy backbone without sharp burnt harshness. Medium-high bitterness leads to a moderately dry finish, with low earthy hop flavor and light fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy character. Moderate to moderately-high carbonation provides a lively lift. Alcohol warmth is very low, making for a highly drinkable experience.
