Northern Disco is a vibrant American IPA that bridges traditional hop intensity with the unique fermentation character of Norwegian yeast. It opens with a punchy bouquet of North American hops, radiating layers of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical mango. The clean, grainy malt base provides a lean foundation, allowing the vibrant hop notes to lead while the Norwegian yeast contributes a subtle stone-fruit ester profile that enhances the overall brightness. Deep gold in color and finishing with a crisp, firm bitterness, it balances modern hop-forward intensity with a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel that echoes its rhythmic, space-disco inspiration.
Appearance. Deep gold (8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, pine resin, and faint passionfruit. A low, grainy malt sweetness supports the hops, accompanied by light stone fruit esters of peach and apricot derived from the Norwegian yeast.
Taste. Initial impression is dominated by bold citrus and resinous hop flavors. A clean, light-toasty malt backbone provides essential support without adding cloying sweetness. Bitterness is medium-high and firm, leading into a dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
