This collaborative Double IPA delivers a saturated tropical profile, driven by a heavy double dry-hopping of Riwaka, Citra, and El Dorado. The sensory journey begins with an evocative orange grove atmosphere, blending bright citrus with exotic layers. Riwaka provides a punchy tropical depth, while Citra and El Dorado contribute lush notes of ripe pineapple and succulent peach. A subtle vanilla ice cream smoothness rounds out the mid-palate, softening the potent hop intensity. Despite its 8.4% strength, the beer maintains the characteristic drinkability of the style, finishing with a refined bitterness that balances the vivid fruit-forward character and delicate, creamy malt support.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with a distinct, misty haze. Crowned by a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, stone fruit peach, and bright citrus. A supportive, neutral maltiness lingers in the background, while the fermentation profile remains clean with a very light, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical pineapple and orange zest. Hop flavor is complex and dominant, showcasing stone fruit and citrus characteristics. Bitterness is moderately high but remains smooth rather than harsh. A soft, clean malt character supports the hop-forward profile, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp lift. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
