Effects! is a contemporary Double IPA that leverages experimental techniques and super saturated hop terpenes to deliver a concentrated fruit experience. An intense bouquet of ripe mangoes and punchy passionfruit dominates the senses, accented by softer notes of peaches and pears. The 8% ABV is seamlessly integrated into a medium-full, creamy body that provides a plush foundation for the aggressive hop character. While honoring the Double IPA tradition of a clean, lingering bitterness, this expression prioritizes a lush hop saturation and a soft, velvety texture over sharp edges, finishing with a persistent tropical resonance and clean fermentation character.
Appearance. SRM 6-9. Deep gold to light orange. Opaque with a heavy haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by tropical fruit notes of ripe mango and punchy passionfruit, followed by stone fruit esters of peach and fresh pear. Malt character is very low, neutral, and grainy. Clean fermentation with no solventy alcohol or harshness.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and stone fruit flavors, mirroring the aroma with prominent mango and pear. Moderately high hop bitterness is present but well-integrated into the soft texture. Low, neutral malt supports the hop-saturated palate. Finishes medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and smooth, plush texture. Moderate carbonation. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being hot. No hop-derived astringency.
