The base beer provides a robust foundation of bittersweet chocolate and roasted espresso, while the cookie conditioning introduces layers of sweet vanilla, toasted biscuit, and a buttery crumb. Despite its high 10.8% ABV, the alcohol is expertly integrated with a smooth, warming quality that complements the rich malt backbone. Taste. Initial impression is deeply malty and sweet-forward. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate and charred grain are layered with a pronounced vanilla cream and toasted wafer character. Subtle dark fruit and black licorice notes appear mid-palate, leading to a long, lingering finish of cocoa and warmth.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, enhancing the creamy mouthfeel. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated, with no harsh astringency.
