Cornholio is a modern Double IPA that emphasizes a saturated, tropical hop profile. The experimental YQH-1320 hops take center stage, delivering intense aromas of ripe pineapple, guava, and stone fruit. This sensory experience is bolstered by the bright grapefruit and lime notes of Citra, while Sultana adds layers of zesty lemon and resinous pine. Ekuanot rounds out the character with subtle melon and berry complexity. This hazy, pale orange ale offers a soft, pillowy texture that carries high hop saturation without harshness. A restrained, neutral malt backbone supports the 7.5% ABV, resulting in a finish defined by lingering, juicy tropical fruit punch.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM); thick, persistent, off-white head with dense lacing; hazy to opaque.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit (pineapple, guava), citrus (grapefruit, lemon zest), and melon. Low, neutral, grainy-sweet malt character in the background. Clean fermentation profile with very light stone fruit esters.
Taste. Strong, juicy hop flavors of pineapple, melon, and citrus zest. Low, supportive, soft doughy malt flavor. Moderately high bitterness that remains smooth and non-astringent. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy, tropical aftertaste and a clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy, and soft texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harshness.
