Banana Nirvana is a decadent Imperial Stout that pours with heavy viscosity, saturated with the essence of ripe Thai Bananas and Toasted Coconut. The sensory journey begins with an intense perfume of caramelized fruit and tropical sweetness, layered over a foundation of dark chocolate derived from Cacao Nibs and the floral elegance of Vanilla Caviar. Sliced Almonds provide a subtle, nutty counterpoint to the rich, roasted malt base. At twelve percent alcohol, it offers a sophisticated warmth that complements the velvety, full-bodied texture, culminating in a lingering, dessert-like finish that balances bittersweet cocoa with lush, fruit-forward complexity.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, deep tan head that shows moderate to low retention, leaving oily legs on the glass as it swirls.
Aroma. High intensity aroma defined by dominant ripe banana and macaroon-like toasted coconut. Significant dark chocolate and cocoa powder notes from cacao nibs are supported by a background of roasted coffee and charred grain. Floral vanilla bean and a hint of marzipan-like nuttiness from the almonds add complexity, with a subtle vinous alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and fruit-forward, featuring saturated Thai banana and creamy vanilla. The mid-palate reveals a massive malt backbone of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and toasted bread. Sliced almonds provide a delicate nutty flavor that cuts through the richness. Bitterness is moderate but well-integrated, preventing the beer from being cloying. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of dark fruit and cocoa.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the creamy mouthfeel. A noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its high strength.
