Spelt Check is a robust Double IPA that leverages a heavy addition of spelt for a signature creamy texture. The aroma is dominated by a complex bouquet of tropical pineapple and bright lime, driven by Motueka and Galaxy. On the palate, Mosaic and Columbus introduce layers of dark fruit and sharp resinous pine, balancing the initial fruit sweetness. Despite the 8.5% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth, finishing with a lingering, clean bitterness. The unique hop blend, including Green Bastard, ensures a multifaceted sensory experience where zesty citrus meets a soft, bready malt backbone, characteristic of a contemporary, hazy-leaning take on the style.
