This Imperial Stout offers an opulent sensory experience centered on the earthy and nutty profile of Java Blue Batavia Coffee. The foundation is built on English Floor Malted Barley, providing a deeply toasted, bready backbone, while the integration of Oats and Rye creates a velvety, slightly spicy texture. Debittered Black Malts ensure a jet-black pour with intense cocoa and espresso notes devoid of acrid burnt edges. Expect a harmonious interplay of dark chocolate and dried fruit esters, finishing with a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth that highlights the robust 9.6% ABV and the craftsmanship of the base malts.

Appearance. SRM 40; jet black and completely opaque. It features a thick, persistent deep tan head with creamy retention and significant lacing. High viscosity is visible through prominent legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a primary focus on freshly roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The English Floor Malted Barley contributes nutty, toasted bread notes. Low esters of prune and raisin are present, while hop aroma is very low, yielding to the complex coffee and malt layers.

Taste. Initial impression of rich espresso and dark cocoa. The Rye adds a subtle peppery spice that complements the heavy malt sweetness. Mid-palate displays notes of caramel and toasted grain, supported by a firm bitterness that balances the residual sugars. The finish is lingering and bittersweet with a clean coffee aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy, enhanced by the inclusion of Oats. It possesses a velvety, luscious texture with moderate-low carbonation. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant, background glow without being sharp.
