Humus Super Citra is an assertive Double IPA that champions the Citra hop through a lean, West Coast-inspired frame. This pale, gold-colored ale opens with an explosive bouquet of zesty grapefruit, crushed lime, and ripe mango, underpinned by a distinctively dank, resinous backbone. The palate is defined by a crisp, crackery malt profile that provides a clean stage for intense tropical fruit and citrus flavors to shine. Despite its strength, the alcohol is masterfully integrated, leading into a bone-dry finish with a persistent, clean bitterness that highlights the hop's multifaceted character without any cloying sweetness or heavy mouthfeel.
Appearance. Pale gold (6-7 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy grapefruit, lime zest, and pineapple, with a noticeable resinous and piney undertone. Neutral, low grainy malt in the background; clean fermentation profile with negligible esters.
Taste. High hop flavor follows the aroma with layers of mango and citrus peel. Bitterness is firm and clean but lacks harshness. Malt is minimal and supportive, tasting of soft crackers. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, clean texture. Moderate-high carbonation. Alcohol warmth is remarkably restrained for the ABV, offering only a very subtle, smooth glow.
