This massive Imperial Stout showcases the profound impact of a twenty-nine-month maturation period within a curated selection of Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, and Willett Rye barrels. The extended aging integrates intense primary notes of dark roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate with sophisticated layers of charred oak and spicy rye whiskey. Warm bourbon notes and sweet caramel weave through a dense, velvety texture, supported by a distinct undertone of roasted nuts. Despite its staggering strength, the profile remains harmonious, offering a complex interplay between deeply scorched grains and the refined, spirit-forward elegance provided by the diverse wood treatment.

Appearance. Opaque and jet black with visible viscosity and slow-moving legs. A thin, creamy, deep tan head forms with moderate to low retention, leaving a fine ring of lacing around the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich, complex blend of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and heavy charred oak. Prominent notes of bourbon and spicy rye whiskey are balanced by sweet caramel and toasted nuts. Subtle background esters of raisin and fig emerge as it warms, while the alcohol is noticeable but smooth and well-integrated.

Taste. A complex explosion of dark roasted grains, espresso, and baker's chocolate. The barrel influence is commanding, providing layers of sweet bourbon, spicy rye, and dry vanillins from the charred oak. Initial caramel sweetness is countered by firm hop bitterness and roasted char. The finish is long and lingering with a persistent warmth, closing on a bittersweet note of dark chocolate and roasted nuts.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a luscious, velvety texture that coats the palate. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's weight. A deep, smooth alcohol warmth is present and significant without being sharp or solventy.
