This hazy American Pale Ale, a collaboration between Howling Hops and ABYSS Brewing, showcases a lush interplay of modern hops. A heavy addition of Idaho 7 and Strata delivers a profile rich with resinous pine, tropical passionfruit, and a signature dankness. The inclusion of oats provides a soft, thicc textural foundation that supports the juicy hop character. Notes of ripe strawberry and citrus peel mingle with a clean fermentation profile from the Howling Hops house yeast. The result is a balanced, hop-forward experience that emphasizes aromatic complexity and a smooth, saturated finish without overwhelming bitterness or harshness.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (6–8 SRM). Notably hazy to opaque with a voluminous, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and dense lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by dank resin, tropical pineapple, and bright passionfruit from Idaho 7 and Strata. Subtle undertones of sweet berries and pine needles are supported by a low, bready, and creamy oat malt character with a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Juicy initial impression featuring mango, citrus, and a distinct herbal dankness. The Idaho 7 provides a firm resinous backbone, while Strata adds layers of red fruit and tropical depth. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a soft bready cushion. Bitterness is moderate and well-integrated. The finish is clean and slightly lingering with a return of tropical fruit and pine.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and thicc texture derived from the heavy use of oats. Moderate carbonation. Smooth and soft on the palate with no alcohol warmth or hop astringency.
