Brew 1000 is a monumental Hazy IPA showcasing an intricate layer of ten malts and ten hops. The grist, featuring Extra Pale Maris Otter and Munich, creates a jammy, bready foundation that supports a massive hop profile. Aromas of fresh pine, citrus, and delicate florals lead into a palate saturated with sticky guava, mango, and grapefruit, driven by a complex whirlpool and dry-hop blend including Nelson, Galaxy, Strata, Azacca, Idaho 7, and Mosaic. Further layers of Citra, Centennial, Chinook, and Amarillo provide a gooseberry and citrus depth. The mouthfeel is notably silky due to the heavy use of Malted Oats and Wheat, finishing with a soft, integrated bitterness.
Appearance. Color is a deep gold to light orange (SRM 5-7) with a characteristic opaque, uniform haze and a brilliant shine. It supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with very high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent resinous pine, bright citrus, and soft floral notes. Background notes of tropical fruit like mango and guava are present. The malt character is low, showing clean bready and grainy notes from the Maris Otter and Munich, while the fermentation profile remains neutral.
Taste. High to very high fruity hop flavor dominated by tropical guava, mango, and citrusy grapefruit, with a distinct gooseberry finish. The malt provides a bready, supportive sweetness that balances the hop saturation. Bitterness is medium-low and smooth, never harsh, leading to a medium, fruit-forward finish with a lingering juicy impression.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably silky and creamy texture derived from the substantial use of flaked and malted oats. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but the beer remains very smooth without any astringency.
