This massive Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory journey, defined by an extraordinary forty-month maturation in Balcones Whiskey Barrels. The nose is greeted by an intense aromatic profile of charred oak and spicy whiskey, softened by prominent layers of vanilla and gooey marshmallow. On the palate, a thick, viscous body carries deep flavors of bittersweet chocolate and espresso, which meld seamlessly with the creamy sweetness of the marshmallow and vanilla additions. The extended aging provides a smooth, warming alcohol presence and a complex, wood-forward finish that lingers with notes of dark fruit, caramelized sugar, and rich barrel character.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a minimal, dark tan head that quickly recedes to a thick collar, exhibiting prominent legs and an oily sheen on the glass due to high alcohol and sugar content.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich layers of spicy whiskey, toasted oak, and charred wood from the Balcones Whiskey Barrels dominate. Deep bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt support dessert-like notes of marshmallow and fragrant vanilla, with subtle hints of raisin and prune.

Taste. Luxurious initial impression of dark chocolate and vanilla bean. Malt flavors of roasted coffee and dark caramel are balanced by a low to moderate bitterness that allows the marshmallow sweetness to persist. The finish is long and warming, showcasing whiskey-soaked wood, coconut, and a hint of dark cherry.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and extremely viscous with a velvety, chewy texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's weight. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout, providing a comforting heat without being harsh or solventy.
